Aeolian

The island of Alicudi is administered by the municipality of Lipari.
The settlement on the island is called Pecorini.
It is the westernmost of the inhabited Aeolian Islands and, perhaps because of this, it is not part of the mass tourist circuit.
Alicudi is known as "the island of heather," a plant that covers the slopes with a pink blanket in spring.
This island, 5.2 km² in size, is an extinct volcano that rises from the sea to reach the summit of Monte Filo dell"Arpa, at 657 meters above sea level.
The western side of the island, completely uninhabited, features sheer cliffs that into the sea, while the eastern side presents a more terraced profile.
